The book deals with the status of horses in the hearts of the Arabs and the praise of Islam for them .. And the horses of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in his chapters, on the knowledge of the nature of horses, their descriptions, training, feeding and the advantages of their riders.
In about 11 chapters, the book “Sawahil”, issued by the “Nineveh House” for Studies, Publishing and Distribution in Syria in 2011 by author Hassan Moussa Al-Numairi, lists everything related to horses of all kinds.
The author of “Al Sawahil” sought to collect everything related to horses, although he was not a breeder or a knight, but he was a lover of this wonderful and beautiful creature, “the horse”.
The first chapter deals with introducing horses, their types, nature and history, while the second chapter talks about horses in the Holy Qur’an and the noble Prophet’s Sunnah, where the author mentioned the seven verses of the Qur’an in which he mentioned horses with seven honorable hadiths of the Prophet.
The third chapter discusses the status of horses in the hearts of the Arabs, the praise of Islam for them, the honor of the noble prophet for them, the choice of their stallions and their names, and the fourth chapter deals with the burial of horses, their qualities, their treatment, their loan and praise for their thanks.
As for the fifth chapter, it talks about the analogy of the horse in Arab literature, where poets used many analogies for horses such as falcon, punishment, beast and water, and chapter six deals with the ages of horses and their colors. The madhq, then the mare, the pigeon, or the desert.
The writer also mentioned in this section all the colors of the horse such as: “Abrash – Al Ablaq – White – John – Mahjal – Red – Red – Al Ahwi – Frightening – Adham – Arthm – Legs – Arkham – Blond – Bald – Yellow – Azam – Akbar – dearest – The sore – comet – the most beautiful – the armpit – the tiger – the roses.
While Chapter Seven dealt with the well-known names of horses in pre-Islamic times and Islam, such as: “The Horses of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace,” giving a detailed explanation of every horse in pre-Islamic times and Islam, and Chapter Eight referred to the descriptions of horses among the Arabs, and Chapter nine dealt with the walking and running of horses and their sounds and groups.
In addition, Chapter Ten discusses the most prominent members of the horse and horse makeup, and the last chapter of the book is devoted to dealing with the faults of the horse and its performance in addition to the castration and breeding of the horse.
