Horse racing is waiting for its fate to be determined within days, by keeping the stables of Heliopolis in their place, or moving the stables inside the Sun Club, or providing an alternative place, and all solutions require stopping the implementation of the sudden removal decision that the officials of Ain Shams Mali neighborhood reported to the stables, which states It is imperative that the stables be evacuated within 72 hours to implement the removal decision. In all cases, the state is required to look at the sport of horse racing and develop it. The “horse site” reviews the opinions in the following investigation: –
In the beginning, Yahya Al-Tahawi, owner of the Al-Tahawi farm for purebred Arabian horses and a member of the board of directors of the “Maki Horse Society” club, says to “horse site” that horse races have been held in “Mirand” since its inception in 1890, and in 1960 when the subway was established, Abdel Aziz Fahmy The metro line came in the middle of the “Mirand Race Track”, so President Gamal Abdel Nasser established an alternative club on the outskirts of Heliopolis, which is the Sports Association of Horse Owners Club, with a benefit of 99 years, with a direct contract with Heliopolis Housing and Development Company, the contract expires in 2064 .
But President Sadat decided in 1974 to establish the Arab Societies Club, which later became the Sun Club, and wanted to provide support for it, as the rent for the horse racing area was 18,000 thousand pounds annually, paid to the Heliopolis Company for Housing and Development, so the contracts were changed to become the name of the Sun Club, but In the renewal, the date was changed to 2005, and after the end of the contract period, the Shams Club refused to renew the lease contracts, and since this date we have been paying in court, and the club did not file any lawsuits.
Adel Sika, owner of the “Sika” farm for breeding purebred Arabian horses, added that the transfer of the Heliopolis stables area has a great impact that may lead to a permanent halt of horse races, explaining that the process of training horses for racing must be next to the “race track” and this happens in every country in the world.
Sika was amazed in his interview with “horse site” about the horse’s distance from the race location, confirming that there is a major defect that will occur because the horse needs rest before running in the race at least two days.
Mr. Sika explains that the transportation process will have a great impact on workers in this field, and the male purchase market will suffer from severe stagnation, especially for the males of the Egyptian Agricultural Authority, as the auctions for the sale of the Authority’s horses depend largely on the race customer, indicating that the purebred Arabian horses are divided into Two types, the first type are camel horses, and the second type are race horses. Horses that do not enjoy exaggerated beauty join the race field, and thus moving the stables away from the race track has damages to the racing industry in Egypt, which has a great history, Egypt is the country No. 2 In the world at the Jockey Club.
SICA calls on the state to support and develop the horse racing industry, suggesting that the state establish a new race area so that a “race track” is established in addition to an area for stables that keeps pace with the development of the horse industry worldwide, and thus further encourages countries that provide annual support for the race in Egypt. Like the UAE, as well as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Sika accuses the management of the Sun Club of being behind this sudden decision because of the false allegations that some make. Knowing that we have electricity meters for these stables and we pay the bills monthly in the court for not accepting the payment of electricity money by Al-Shams Club, the sport of racing has many public figures such as Prince Faisal bin Musaed and Prince Khalid bin Saud and that this sport is one of the high-end sports.
Sika points out that the only solution from a point of view is the continuation of the “racecourse” in a place, with attention to cleaning the wall area and establishing stables there, as the National Circus got a place in the club.
The international referee, Mohamed Badrawi, confirms that Egypt is the second country in the world in the field of horse racing, and therefore the state must preserve what has been achieved in this field, and work to develop it, and the race is a large market for the horses of Al Zahraa station, because it sells males that are unfit to be Talluka or less beautiful for the race, and for several years the Agricultural Authority used to give their bullets to the owners of the stables in order to enter the race with their names in exchange for renting it from the Agricultural Authority, so the owners of these stables are considered a great benefit to the agricultural authority.
Badrawi explains his story as the owner of a horse stable for “Al-Khail Site”, where his father’s horse racing journey, may God have mercy on him, began by registering this stable at Al-Zahraa station, and his stable is one of the oldest 4 stables in Egypt, as his ancestors are among the founders of Al-Zahra Station, and the existing racing stable In the stables of Heliopolis, it has been registered under the supervision of the Supreme Racing Authority, and the prescribed fees are paid annually for that.
Badrawi was surprised at the decision, and asks whether it is logical that more than 2000 purebred Arabian horses be transported within 72 hours, huge sums of money were spent on them, calling on the state to support the sport of racing and offer prizes for it, and to support barley and reduce taxes like the rest of the world, explaining that Malak The stables bear operating expenses, which include (workers, jockeys, veterinarians, mangers, suppliers of alfalfa, barley and hay), however they continue despite the closure of the export of horses abroad, so there are no horses currently sold.
Badrawi continues his speech by saying: My father bought the racing stable in Heliopolis 20 years ago for an amount of 200,000 pounds from Saudi Prince Walid Al-Tuwaijri, and he registered it in the Sports Association’s Horse Racing Club, and he paid 200,000 pounds for registration in the Horse Owners Club, so is it conceivable that The area is removed without providing an alternative place, or compensating those affected, as the building of one box costs 25 thousand pounds.
Badrawi asks why Al Shams Club did not renew the contracts for the stables? Knowing that the contract was renewed by Faraj Amer, deputy of the People’s Assembly, why did they not renew the contracts for the stables all together !!!!
For his part, Representative Raef Tamraz, a member of the Agriculture and Irrigation Committee in the House of Representatives, presented an urgent statement to the government about the sudden decision to move the Heliopolis stables area. In his urgent statement, Tamraz called on the government to provide an alternative place to transfer the stables to it, and to create a new “race track”. Tamraz addressed another solution, which is Moving the stables inside the Al Shams Club, where there are large unused space in the club.
