On the authority of Abdullah bin Omar – may God be pleased with them both – he said: “The Messenger of God – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – said: There is neither infection nor bird, but bad luck is in three: in the horse, the woman, and the house.” And in another narration: “They mentioned bad luck with the Prophet – may God bless him and grant him peace. He said: If it is bad luck: in the house, the woman, and the horse.” Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim. And in the narration of Muslim, “On the Woman, the Horse, and the Dwelling.”
Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani said in “Fath al-Bari”: “Al-Qurtubi said, and it is not thought that he is carrying him to what the Jahiliyyah used to believe, based on the fact that this is harmful and beneficial to himself, for that is wrong, but what he meant is that these things are what people are most afraid of. His soul is something that it is permissible for him to leave and be replaced by someone else.”
