Clout Bey describes Muhammad Ali Pasha in his book “An Overview of Egypt“, saying: He is a quarter of his stature, his height does not exceed five feet and two inches, with a fat body, bloody mood, and nervousness to an extreme degree. His hair and beard in his youth were of a kind of sophistication, the forehead was exposed and prominent, and in his eyebrows there was an apparent protrusion. As for his eyes, they are chestnut in color, in purity and clarity, and they are deep in the eyebrows. The nose is medium in size, wide and swollen at the nostrils, with a small mouth. Twisted mustaches at their ends, white beard hair without density, and it consists of a group of these features that have a lovable face that is attractive to the utmost degree, and a face in which the freshness of life and signs of movement and strength appear, and has piercing eyes that are the object of research and exploration, and its general appearance indicates the accuracy of thought, the tenderness of feeling and honor inclinations.
Muhammad has a beautiful little hand with curly fingers, and a small foot as well, and he is of good character, his gait reflects self-confidence, and indicates what is required in a soldier of military discipline and order.
If he walked, he would push forward the tip of the feet, being careful (preserving) from moving his body except to the extent necessary, within a narrow range that almost touched his sides, and if he stood up straight, placing one hand in the other behind his back.
It is good for us in this regard to mention; Because he is unfamiliar with the Turks, he tends to sports and space in his room. And if he puts his turban on his head, he makes it slightly skewed to the left side of him, and although he hates to display signs of honor and rank, and he refuses to wear clothes embellished with gold wires, according to the common custom among the Ottomans
