Prince Muhammad Ali Tawfiq considers that one of the important necessities in the field of horse breeding is that the striking horse (stallion) should always be a great superior. Because his superiority is one of the important factors that he must have as a famous offspring horse, in addition to his good looks and beauty of appearance, which must be in the first place.
He adds: We have often heard people questioning the testimony of the offspring, but if this testimony is not corroborated by actual evidence of the quality of the offspring, then it is a worthless scrap of paper, and if it is found in the origins of the knocker horse as second-class horses, this would have been the product of this The horse is of the second class as well, even though it is actually of the first class.
The certificate is only a record of the horse, and it does not contain conclusive evidence of the quality of its origin unless its breed is of the first degree.
He continued: We cite an example of this, which is that there is Jawad Tariq in the Royal Agricultural Society called Ibn Rabdan, his color is dark blond, he excelled in color, so his entire product came of blond color like him, unlike the color of mothers, and this superiority remains inherent to him, until he meets with a mare that is distinguished from him. In this dominant trait, his product is based on his mother’s trait.
Prince Muhammad Ali Tawfiq revealed that: Sometimes the breeder sells his horse because of a defect in which he took it from one of his assets, but in this case he is mistaken; For when most of the origins of this horse are in the first degree, it will produce a good product even if it is ugly in appearance, and such is not obtained from an expert breeder; Knowing that most of the origins of this horse are in the first rank as well.
He points out that the Arabs attach greater importance to the selection of female horses than to the selection of males, and it is difficult to understand their purpose in this, but I think that because the horses are free in the vast desert, I can say that every foal is easy to know its mother, and it is impossible to know its father. For this reason, their reasoning is attributed to the lineage of the offspring to the mother.
Standard Specifications for Arabian Horses at Prince Muhammad Ali Tawfiq
Prince Muhammad Ali Tawfiq addressed the standard specifications for the stature of Arab horses, explaining at the beginning of his speech that the height of Arab horses is not important, but rather that the Arabs prefer small ones, pointing out that the most important thing that should be noted in them is the following:
o Ears: they should be small, delicate and close to each other.
o Eyes: wide and bright, reflecting intelligence, attention, and kindness.
o Front: broad.
o The nostrils: are wide and the skin around them is thin.
o Tail: high.
o Neck: arched.
To explain the high tail and bow of the neck, the author says: If a ten-year-old boy rode the horse and ran with it, the horse raised its tail and head to the level of the rider’s head.
Among the characteristics of a racing horse is that it has wide nostrils, broad forehead, large ribs, strong muscles, and a long neck; So as not to have to bend the knees when drinking from the river.
Tawfiq considers that one of the amazing characteristics of the Arabian horse is that you buy him a small, tired and ugly foal.
He explained that his intention in breeding was to combine beauty and the ancient origin of the horse, and that was helped by what I had from a collection of artistic images and drawings of beautiful animals.
