We present the meaning of the branded horse in the Holy Qur’an, which was mentioned in verse 14 of Surat Al Imran, where we present all the opinions of the commentators and the people of interpretation in detail, and then discuss them linguistically; To reach the correct meaning of the wonderful description that God praised the horse.
The Almighty said: “Zain for people love lusts of women, boys and conviction of gold, silver, silver, etc.,
In al-Tabari’s interpretation of the noble verse: Abu Jaafar said: The people of interpretation differed regarding the meaning of “Al-Masawmah” according to two opinions:
The first opinion: Al-Masouma is the sponsor:
We were told by Ibn Waki’, he said, my father told us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Habib bin Abi Thabit, on the authority of Saeed bin Jubayr: “The marked horse,” he said: the shepherd who grazes.
We were told by Ibn Bashar, he said, Abd al-Rahman told us, he said, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Habib, on the authority of Saeed Ibn Jubayr, the same.
Al-Muthanna told me, he said, Abu Naim told us, he said, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Habib, on the authority of Saeed bin Jubayr, the same.
Al-Hassan bin Yahya told us, he said, Abdul Razzaq told us, he said, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Habib bin Abi Thabit, on the authority of Saeed bin Jubayr: She is the shepherd, meaning: the womanizer.
Ibn Waki` told us, he said, “My father told us, on the authority of Talha Al-Qanad, who said, I heard Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Abza saying: Shepherd.”
Muhammad bin Saad told me, he said, my father told me, he said, my uncle told me, he said, my father told me, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn Abbas: “And the marked horses.” He said: Shepherd.
Bishr told us, he said, Yazid told us, he said, Said told us, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of al-Hasan: “And the marked horses” that are grazing.
It was narrated on the authority of Ammar ibn al-Hasan, he said, Ibn Abi Jaafar told us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of al-Rabee’, who said: “And the marked horses.” He said: Shepherd horses.
It was narrated on the authority of Ammar, Ibn Abi Jaafar said to us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Laith, on the authority of Mujahid: He used to say: Shepherd horses.
The second opinion: Al-Musawama is Al-Hassan.
Muhammad bin Bashar told us, he said, Abdul Rahman told us, he said, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Habib, he said: Mujahid said: “Al-Masawmah” is the cleaned one.
Al-Hassan bin Yahya told us, he said, Abdul Razzaq told us, he said, Al-Thawri told us, on the authority of Habib bin Abi Thabit, on the authority of Mujahid, in his saying: “And the marked horses,” he said: Al-Hassan, the cleaned one.
Muhammad bin Amr told me, he said, Abu Asim told us, he said, Jesus told us, on the authority of Ibn Abi Najih, on the authority of Mujahid in his saying: “And the marked horses,” he said: The tamed ones are good.
Al-Muthanna told me, he said, Abu Hudhaifah told us, he said, Shebl told us, on the authority of Ibn Abi Najih, on the authority of Mujahid likewise.
Al-Muthanna told me, he said, Abu Naim told us, he said, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Habib, on the authority of Mujahid: Al-Mutahmah.
We were told by Ibn Hamid, he said: We were told by Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Maqri, he said, We were told by Saeed Ibn Abi Ayyub, on the authority of Bashir Ibn Abi Amr al-Khawlani, he said: I asked Ikrimah about “marked horses,” he said: Tasawimha: its goodness.
Yunus told me, he said, Ibn Wahb told us, he said, Said bin Abi Ayyub told me, on the authority of Bashir bin Abi Amr Al-Khawlani, he said: I heard Ikrimah say: “The marked horses.” He said: Tasweemha: good.
Musa bin Harun told me, he said, Amr told us, he said, Asbat told us, on the authority of Al-Suddi: “marked horses and cattle”: the magnificent.
The third opinion tagged is the parameter:
Ali bin Dawood told me, he said, Abu Salih told us, he said, Muawiyah told me, on the authority of Ali, on the authority of Ibn Abbas: “And the marked horses,” meaning: the teacher.
We were told by Bishr, he said, Yazid told us, he said, Said told us, on the authority of Qatada: “And the poisoned horse,” and Simha: Shetha.
Al-Hasan bin Yahya told us, he said, Abd al-Razzaq told us, he said, Muammar told us, on the authority of Qatada, in his saying: “And the branded horse,” he said: The hair of the horse is on its faces.
Fourth opinion: Al-Masuma is the preparation for jihad
Yunus told me, he said, Ibn Wahb told us, he said, Ibn Zayd said: “And the marked horses.” He said: They are prepared for jihad.
The most likely opinion on the meaning of the so-called:
Abu Jaafar said: The first of these sayings to be correct in the interpretation of his saying: “And the poisoned horse” is marked with sheep, good, beautiful, good; Because “salvation” in the words of the Arabs is the media. Good horses are marked by God’s informing them of the goodness of their colours, their looks and their looks, and they are also “purified.” Among this is the saying of the genius of Bani Dhibyan regarding the description of horses:
With a badge like a mug, tagged **** on it are a group of jinn-like
By “Al-Maswamat”, he means the parameters, and Lapid said:
And in the morning at the bottom of the two horns we came to them **** thundering waving through the sound
The meaning of the interpretation of those who interpreted that: “Al-Mutammahah, Al-Maalimah, and Al-Ra’i’ah” is the same.
Linguistic response to those who said that Al-Masouma was the sponsor:
Imam al-Tabari said in his response to the one who interpreted the meaning of “Al-Masuma” with “the shepherd” by saying: As for the statement of the one who interpreted it meaning: the shepherd, he went to the saying of the one who said: “I named the cattle, then I call them Osama” if I graze them with pastures and grass, as God Almighty said Almighty: “And from it is a tree in which you name” (Al-Nahl: 10), meaning: you are grazing. And from it is Al-Akhtal’s saying:
Like Ibn Baza’ah or another like him **** it is better for you Ibn Musaymah Al-Ajmal
It means: the patroness of the total. If it is meant that the cattle were grazed, then it is said: “The cattle are tsum som”; That is why it was said: “Saimah camels”, meaning: shepherds, but it is not extensive in their words: “I gave the cattle”, meaning “shepherded them.” Rather, it is said if that is desired: “I named them.”
If this is the case, then directing the interpretation of “Al-Masawmah” to the “marker” with what we have described from the above-mentioned meanings is more correct.
As for what Ibn Zayd said: That it is prepared for the sake of God, then it is an interpretation of the meaning of “Al-Masawmah” in isolation.
