“Separating the origin of weaned foals … and the mothers of horses in two separate pieces“
During the era of the Hungarian expert, “Tibor de Bedko Center,” the stables of Kafr Farouk station witnessed a major development process that included all its sectors of “housing, isolation places and the production stable” birth site.
In the memorandum submitted to Mohamed Taher Pasha, head of the Egyptian Agricultural Association, on breeding purebred Arabian horses at a farm in Kafr Farouk, the Hungarian expert emphasized: “The weaned foals should be separated, whether they are“ male or female, ”as is the case in pastures, where they are a free herd They are not bound unless the food is dry so that everyone can eat a dry meal, pointing out that the using “boxes” makes serving in the stable tiring and arduous, as it separates the foals from love and fun with each other.
The expert added: “With regard to mothers of horses, they must be placed in two separate pieces. Mothers who conceived and gave birth are placed together, but those at the beginning of pregnancy, and those that do not bear are placed together, but it is better for Arabian horses to live in herds with each other free. It makes them more peaceful.

It is noteworthy that wild horses live in herds with each other and with one and two years of age, they are not restricted except when eating dry food, while infant foals must be placed at the time of dry eating in small, converging, rectangular outgrowths so that each of them learns to eat from the other “eating barley and oats.”
With regard to mares and horses at the age of 3 and a half years that are prepared for riding or pulling carriages, he said: They must be in isolation and also include the horses that are put under test, and there are places for saddles, harrows, bridles and a room for horse washing to be attached to this stable.
He added: “The existing birth stable is acceptable and can be preserved. However, it is necessary to sterilize after each birth, the walls must be 120 cm high, constructed of cement, have water pipes and water drains, and a new dressing should be placed before the bearing process. Or similar cleansing materials, then washed, so that the place is prepared for another birth.
He continued: “After visiting Kafr Farouk twice, I acknowledge that all the factors and conditions according to which Kafr Farouk is the most important fortress for breeding and producing purebred horses, meeting all the conditions and making it a model to be emulated,” adding: “This matter is not easy work, but it is glorious and the best results are expected for it. God willing, and with the valuable help and care of His Excellency the President of the Association, and with the cooperation of all the members of the farm, it must bear fruit as long as the diligence and sincerity in work and attachment to it is the supreme leader, and since I did not visit the places of vaccination and did not see the eligibility stallions, I will submit a report about it after my visit to it.
