Prince Tosson conducted many experiments to produce strong horses in the Egyptian country to serve the army and the police.
He assumed the presidency of the Horse Commission in 1887, and after the failure of the commission, the horse breeding business was entrusted to the Royal Agricultural Society of the Buffalo Breeding Department with the inspection of “Bahtim” in 1907.
During the reign of Prince Omar Toson, the Department of Horse Breeding was assigned to Dr. Ahmed Mabrouk, and he was allowed to travel to the Arabian Peninsula and Iraq to search for male horses that are in line with the Association’s program, “according to what Dr. Ahmed Mabrouk wrote in his book A Journey to the Countries of the East”, he also commissioned Dr. Abdel-Alim Ashoub to document the history of horses.
He then assumed the presidency of the Royal Agricultural Society from September 3, 1932 to January 26, 1944, where he took special care of “Sudan” affairs, and worked on strengthening social, economic and scientific ties between the two countries, through holding parties and sending missions, in addition to taking care of scientific and historical affairs, and in that regard he had valuable books and extensive letters, which he spent on composing And it printed a lot of his time and money.
He also took an interest in social affairs, as evidenced by the fact that he presided over the most ethical and literary societies, such as the “Prevention Intoxicants ”and other bodies that he included in his sponsorship and spent a lot on them, as he is the author of great value books for accuracy Its historical investigations, while his scientific trips in the desert are, from the specialists’ point of view, one of his most important services to science.
Specialists described Prince Omar Tosson as one of the princes most concerned with public affairs, in addition to his countless positions in the national movement, in addition to being the first to think of forming the Egyptian delegation in 1918 to demand freedom and independence
